Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to apply ethical frameworks and principles when making decisions in own role.
The unit applies to individuals who use ethical principles and apply ethical frameworks to decide on, carry out, and evaluate the effectiveness of a course of action in response to an ethical situation in their workplace.
The skills in this unit must be applied according to commonwealth, state and territory legislation, and applicable national standards and industry codes of practice or similar instruments.
Work functions in the occupational areas where this unit may be used are subject to regulatory requirements. Users are advised to check with the relevant regulatory authorities to confirm those requirements.

Details of Learning Activities
Students will be engaged in a variety of pre-class, in-the-class, and post-class activities as outlined in the relevant Canvas shell. A range of learning activities are planned for this course including self-paced and collaborative classroom-based activities. The self-paced activities will be delivered thought various technology platforms and include your contribution to, reflective journals, quizzes and interactive sessions. The collaborative classroom-based activities will include group discussion, group problem solving activities and opportunities to practice your skills in a simulated/real workplace environment.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral/written presentations and through the application of learned skills and insights. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on CANVAS.
Assessment Tasks
This unit is clustered (taught and assessed) with:
BUSM6651C (FNSINC411) Conduct work according to professional practices in the financial services industry.
There will be three (3) assessment tasks in this course, and you must complete all of them satisfactorily to be deemed competent.
Assessment Task 1- Due in Week 4
This assessment is a knowledge based assessment. You will need to research and answer ten (10) knowledge-based questions based on the scenarios provided.
Assessment Task 2-Due in Week 7
Case-study- By responding to the case study questions, you will be demonstrating your knowledge of ethical principles and apply ethical frameworks to decide on, carry out, and evaluate the effectiveness of a course of action in response to an ethical situation in their workplace.
Assessment Task 3- Due in Week 8
Role-play- This assessment task builds on the scenarios that you worked with in Assessment Task 2. Review Assessment Task 2 to refresh your memory. The scenarios have been provided for you again below. You will use the information in the scenario to participate in two role - plays.

You should:
- Ensure that you submit assessments on or before the due date
- Always retain a copy of your assessment tasks (hard copy and soft copy)
- When you submit work for assessment at RMIT University you need to use a cover sheet that includes a declaration and statement of authorship. You must complete, sign and submit a cover sheet with all work you submit for assessment, whether individual or group work. Late Submission Procedures
You are required to submit assessment items and/or ensure performance-based assessment is completed by the due dates.
If you are prevented from submitting an assessment item on time, by circumstances outside your control, you may apply in advance to your teacher for an extension to the due date of up to seven calendar days.

Resubmissions (VE Programs)
If you are assessed as unsuccessful in an assessment task you will be allowed one resubmission only. Your teacher will provide feedback regarding what you need to do to improve and will set a new deadline for the resubmission.
If you are assessed as unsuccessful in your resubmission of an assessment task you then you should consult with your course teacher to determine whether any further resubmission opportunities may be available. Your request will be considered by your course teacher, and you will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible.
