Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to assess structural components and services in a residential building to determine their impact on the interior design brief.

This unit applies to interior designers, including kitchen and bathroom designers. They analyse and integrate information from site inspection, documentation and consultation to inform the design process.

In order to be deemed competent for this unit, students need to complete satisfactorily three (3) assessment tasks including a Knowledge Questions/Activities task, and a Design concept and client presentation task and a project presentation task.

They will be identified as a Compulsory WIP. LEARNING ACTIVITIES

These exercises/activities must be completed on time as indicated in the weekly schedule to allow you to build knowledge and progress to the formal assessment.

Note: Each WIP (activities) task are available in Canvas shell, in conjunction with assessment information communicated in class by the teacher.

Even if you complete and pass the formal assessment, if you haven’t completed the WIP you are unable to pass this course overall.

Submission Cover Sheet

For approved late submissions, please arrange a time and place with your teacher to hand in your work. Students dropping off work to the staff room without prior arrangement will not be accepted. Please ask the staff collecting the work to sign and date your form and return a copy back to you.

Extensions

Resubmission

You are allowed one resubmission for each assessment task. Resubmission period is 2 working days from the time your initial assessment result is released.

Late Submission Penalties

Work submitted late without medical certificate or approved extension will not be allowed the resubmission.
