Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage a supply chain, including the commercial and technical capabilities to ensure outcomes achieve organisational objectives.
It applies to individuals who are responsible for managing a supply chain in an organisation.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Performance evidence
Evidence of the ability to:
- critically evaluate organisational supply chain management
- successfully manage a supply chain in accordance with organisational policies and procedures, including:
- implement a supply chain strategy
- monitor supply chain activities
- co-ordinate staff and engage relevant stakeholders
- liaise with suppliers to drive efficiencies
- evaluate and formulate recommendations to improve supply chain management strategy.

Knowledge evidence
The candidate must be able to demonstrate the following knowledge to effectively complete the tasks outlined in the elements and performance criteria of this unit, and to manage tasks and reasonably foreseeable contingencies in the context of the work role:
- key features of organisational objectives and their relationship to the supply chain strategy
- key requirements relating to the management of a supply chain, including:
- organisational policies and procedures for procurement, tendering and contracting
- contracting and tendering
- ethical behaviour
- purchasing and procurement
- supply chain management
- techniques to establish collaborative relationships
- relevant legislation, regulations, standards and organisation policies.
Details of Learning Activities
This unit will be co-delivered and co-assessed with TLIX0016X - Manage outsourced supply chain operations - as a cluster is entitled "Manage outsourced operations and the supply chain".
The delivery of this cluster will be face to face on-campus.
The activities will include some elements of lecture style, some research-based and self directed learning. There will be a large part of the activities incorporating simulated business meetings, in class.
The emphasis will be mainly on interactive learning.

Assessment conditions
Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in the administration – procurement and contracting field of work and include access to:
- organisation policies and procedures
- supply chain strategies and relevant supply chain management records
- office equipment and supplies
- case studies and, where possible, real situations in the workplace.
Assessors of this unit must satisfy the assessor requirements in applicable vocational education and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.

Summary and Purpose of Assessment
This short-answer assessment task is one (1) of two (2) assessment tasks you need to complete.
Both assessments need to be completed satisfactorily in order to be deemed competent for this cluster of two (2) units.
This assessment task allows you to demonstrate your knowledge of managing a supply chain and outsourcing supply chain operations in accordance with relevant organisational objectives.

Assessment 2 - Workbook and Presentation

Summary and Purpose of Assessment
This product assessment task is the final of two assessment tasks you need to complete satisfactorily, in order to be deemed competent for this unit.
This assessment will allow you to demonstrate your ability to manage a supply chain, including the commercial and technical capabilities to ensure outcomes achieve organisational objectives.
What
In this assessment consists of (2) parts.
Part A:
You are required to complete a portfolio workbook (template on Canvas Assessment menu) which includes multiple tasks.
Part B:
Presentation to management
You are to present details of analysis outcomes to management for approval to proceed for drafting a new SOP (Standard Operational Procedure) based on a transfer from their current ‘Push’ systems to a new ‘Pull’ system based on the changing demand environment.

These 2 courses will be co-delivered and co-assessed, all two (2) assessments must be completed successfully to deem these two units satisfactory.
