Course Description
The purpose of this course is to provide competency based training in broad aerospace engineering design skills. This course encompasses elements of:
• Project management
• Client liaison
• Preliminary and other design options
• Tender documentation and procedures
• Detail and final engineering design
• Technical reporting and presentation
• Airworthiness certification processes.

Learning Outcomes
1. Produce a design and development brief of options for ‘approval to proceed’.
2. Design an aerospace engineering solution from a clients brief to involve standard and proven design techniques and to comply with airworthiness requirements.
3. Draw preliminary general arrangements, design and detail drawings.
4. Prepare a written report on the design project.
5. Present technical information orally.
Overview of Assessment
To successfully complete this course the student is required to pass written assessment tasks and demonstrate skills and ability by completing pratical tasks to aerospace standard.
