Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to access, increase and update knowledge of the film, television, radio and multimedia industry, including the role of different industry sectors, and the impacts of changing technology. This knowledge underpins effective performance in all sectors.
This course is co-delivered with CUEOHSiA Implement workplace health, safety and security procedures in the class called Industry Practice1

Learning Outcomes
Details of Learning Activities
Students will be introduced to the necessary skills and knowledge needed to complete an industry standard brief. Selected briefs will be then introduced by an industry representative and after a concentrated period of research and development, each student Team will present final proposals to staff/students and/or industry reps. Students will also have the chance to observe working professionals through visits to selected companies and studios.

Delivery of this course will take place over three days during the week commencing 16.04.07
Day 1: Introduction and guest speaker ( morning session)
Studio preparation and research (afternoon session)
Day 2: Group Project activities (morning session)
Group Project activities & presentations ( afternoon session)
Day 3: Final presentations to teachers and industry reps (morning session)
Industry visit: Teachers to take student Groups to visit a range of companies (afternoon session)

Overview of Assessment
Assessment is based on class exercises worth 60%, involving asking questions of industry practitioners. There is also a team exercise worth 40% that involves investigating the structure and practice of contemporary multimedia related company.
