Course Description

This learning unit consists of four competencies. It provides students with skills on how to identify key result areas of strategic significance, identification of future marketing opportunities based on a situational analysis, identification and impact of macro-environmental constraints, formulation of long term strategic objectives and related key performance indicators. The unit covers planning at the strategic and tactical levels and the implementation of those plans to ensure that business expansion and internal & external customer satisfaction levels are in keeping with business plans.

Learning Outcomes

At the successful completion of this competency, students will have demonstrated competency in the elements that make up this unit.


Overview of Assessment

Students must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of a particular competency to be deemed competent. Assessment methods have been designed to measure achievement of each competency in a flexible manner over a range of assessment tasks.
Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including assignments, presentation and written test. Students are advised that they will be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to their teacher to ensure that the relevant competency standards are being met.

Students will receive ongoing feedback on their progress in the course. Feedback on assessment will be given in a timely manner. They will be informed about how to improve their performance in the competency/course and what they need to do to be deemed competent or to gain a pass in the assessment.
