Overview of Assessment
A person who demonstrates competency in this unit must be able to use CAD to create and display 3-D models.
The assessment is conducted in both theoretical and practical aspects of the course according to the performance criteria set in the National Training Package.
Assessment may incorporate a variety of methods including written/oral activities and demonstration of practical skills to the relevant industry standards.
Participants are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment activities to their teacher/assessor.
Feedback will be provided throughout the course. To successfully complete this course you will be required to demonstrate competency in each assessment task
detailed under Assessment Tasks section of Course Guide Part B.
Assessment Tasks
This is a competency-based course. In class progressive exercises, compentency tests, and project work, you will be assessed on the skills you developed througout the course, in particular your ability to understand computer aided drawing systems for the purpose of drawing in 2D and 3D to represent engineering applications and display the models.
Competency test will be conducted in the Lab under supervision.
You must be competent in all performance criteria listed above. Then only you will be awarded graded assessment task.
Assessment Matrix
1. Class exercise -20% Covering Elements 1-4.
2. Project work -1 -30%- Covering Elements 1-4.
3. Competency Test -1 -50%- Using SolidWorks software- Covering Elements 1-4.
Other Information
Tests are conducted under closed book conditions. In order to Achieve the competency the learner must Competent in Competency Test 1 &2.
