Purpose of the Program
The objective of this program is to produce graduates with the foundation knowledge and clinical skills to safely and competently undertake general osteopathic practice. It is designed to integrate foundation and clinical sciences with clinical skills and application in a five-year, sequenced course structure. The program also provides a basis for further education and research in health related fields.
You will be exposed to both real life and simulated clinical scenarios through the program, allowing you the opportunity to explore, integrate, and apply academic and practical knowledge. This activity is facilitated, supervised, and assessed by AHPRA registered practitioners. Work integrated learning opportunities are provided via the RMIT Health Sciences Clinic and/or similar clinical facilities.
The capstone course REHA2225 - Osteopathic Practice Portfolio, undertaken in Semester 2 of your final year of study, prepares you for your transition to professional life, and is a culmination of prior osteopathic academic, clinical, and professional learning and experience.
Courses within the program utilise multi-modal delivery methods such as face-to-face, online, and blended delivery. While most courses in the program are delivered on campus, others are delivered online. Overall, the program requires on campus attendance. Enrolment is full-time only. There are no options for part-time enrolment. The integrated nature of the program means that it is not possible to exit with a single three year degree in either Health or Applied Science.
