The program develops your academic skills, knowledge and confidence, required to access and participate in higher-level qualifications, and enhances your further study prospects. The program is designed as a pathway for school leavers who did not attain a required skill level, those who wish to change career, or for those of you who have not studied for some years.
The objective of the Engineering stream is to prepare you for further study and to create pathways into the field of Engineering. To support this, upon successful completion of the qualification, guaranteed pathways are available into the follwing RMIT programs with the School of Vocational Engineering:

RMIT was a member of the steering committee that developed this nationally recognised qualification and has been on subsequent review steering committees. It is owned by the Department of Education, Higher Education and Skills Group (HESG), Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE) Board - Victoria and is maintained by the Curriculum Maintenance Manager (CMM) - General Studies and Further Education. The program develops the skills and knowledge required by specific learner groups to enhance their education prospects in Engineering related fields.
The program implementation and program delivery is informed by both the Industry Advisory Committee - IAC for Engineering programs in the Future Tech Cluster, and the Tertiary Preparation Industry Advisory Committee in the Social Care and Health Cluster.There are no external accreditation bodies with this qualification.

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees. Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
