The Certificate IV in Photography and Digital Imaging is designed to equip you with a broad range of photo imaging skills including lighting, image capture, enhancements, manipulation and output. The objective of the program is to develop your skills and knowledge of photography through practical and theoretical exploration in areas including:
- Colour theory
- Design
- Digital output and printing
- Image capture
- Lighting techniques
The program is skills based and industry focused and prepares you to work in studios or undertake freelance work. The focus of the program is to provide you with technical expertise in photography as well as to develop an understanding of concept development and the photographic process.

Mandatory Personal Statement
All applicants must complete the following personal statement:
A reflection on what area of Photography you are most interested in and why.
- Describe who or what inspires you most to be a photographer.
- Describe who or what appears in the last photograph you have taken and what equipment/device you took the photo with.
International English language requirement

The Industry Advisory Committee, a group of industry professionals reflecting the range of aspects of photography and digital imaging provide input and guidance to the development and delivery of this program. Courses within the program are taught by teachers with extensive industry experience and backgrounds.

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees. Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
