Fast-track program
The Certificate IV TAE40122 in Training and Assessment is a teaching qualification suitable for people from across a range of industries wanting to deliver and assess vocational education and training in their field of vocational expertise. Students undertake this program to both develop and accredit their knowledge and skills with this qualification that is a recognised teaching and assessment credential in the Standards for RTOs (2017 amendment).
This fast-track program is designed for students already working in industry as trainers who hold or may have held older versions of the Certificate IV in Training and assessment or Train the Trainer qualifications and wish to have current qualifications to be able deliver and assess training packages.
Students enrolling in this program must have vocational knowledge and experience in their industry field. This may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification that applies to the Vocational Education sector. This experience may be in accredited or non-accredited training in a professional or community setting.

The Training and Assessment (TAE) Training Package, which includes the Certificate IV Training and Assessment, does not mandate particular pathways for the qualifications provided. Entry points and progression rely heavily on the background, experience and qualifications currently held by the learner. Choices in the individual qualifications contained in the Training Package associated with training and assessment, specialisations in language, literacy and numeracy, management or international education services will depend on the preferences and needs of the learner.
You may wish to deepen your skills and knowledge in vocational education and training after completion of the Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40122) by undertaking the Diploma of Vocational Education (TAE50122).

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, TAE40122 is the entry level qualification for trainers and assessors in the national Vocational Education and Training (VET) system.
At RMIT, we ensure that the Certifcate IV in Training and Assessment TAAE40122 program is responsive to current industry needs through its Industry Advisory Committee. This committee represents a broad cross section of the training industry and advises on training and assessment, ensuring that the program produces graduates who have the skills needed in the field. The program team members are also members of the Victorian Practitioners Network (VPN) which consists of training providers, trainers and assessors of the Training and Assessment Training Package, as well as industry stakeholders who meet regularly to discuss current policy and practice in the field.

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees. Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
