External accreditation and industry links
The development of the program structure and the choice of elective units appropriate to the Project Management discipline were informed through consultation with representatives from the industry and RMIT educators.
Teachers maintain close contact with industry through various professional development activities, and for sessional staff generally they maintain employment or operate their own businesses in a relevant sector. Nick Reynolds, Program Manager, regularly engages with extensive networks in the industry.
Teachers frequently invite guest speakers for the program. All learners participate in classes where they are assisted to make connections between theoretical concepts and the workplace. In some cases this is their own workplace. Mentoring and coaching by the facilitator in order to assist learners to make this connection is a major design feature of this program.
