The Graduate Certificate in Commerce is a technology-focused postgraduate business program that focuses on social impact and sustainable leadership. This program provides you with the specialist discipline knowledge and contemporary digital tools necessary to work and operate effectively in a global business environment. The core courses of the program will provide you with the knowledge, skills and ethics to lead in the business world. This program provides flexible opportunities to customise and adapt your future coursework learning to match your specific interests and career aspirations or needs. The Graduate Certificate in Commerce aims to enhance and support your career in operational, managerial and consulting roles across a broad range of local and global enterprises and settings.
Throughout this program you will be exposed to a variety of applied activities and industry-partnered learning that will enhance your ability to interpret business information, prioritise and analyse complex issues, and to formulate sustainable plans, ethical strategies, options and solutions. You will participate in face-to-face workshops and online activities and engage in tasks requiring critical analysis and problem solving. Working in groups and individually, you will identify and analyse a range of strategic issues and apply theory to cases and practical problems.
There is one core research course in this program, which is BUSM4448 Business Research Design. This course is designed to develop your knowledge of research principles and methods and how to apply them within the contemporary business environment. You will have the opportunity to conduct a research project/proposal and further develop your skills in research methodology.
The delivery of this program is blended comprising of face-to-face and online learning.

1. If you have completed the RMIT GC212 Graduate Certificate in Commerce and articulate into the RMIT MC288 Master of Commerce and you will be exempt from completing the four (4) core courses completed in the GC212 Graduate Certificate in Commerce. You must complete an additional twelve (12) courses (144 credit points) to qualify for the degree.
2. The GC212 Graduate Certificate in Commerce is also an exit award from the MC288 Master of Commerce. It is available to students upon successful completion of the four (4) courses (48 credit points) specified in the GC212 Graduate Certificate in Commerce program structure.
Credit outside of the above arrangements will be assessed consistently with the RMIT University credit policy and procedures. If you wish to apply for a credit transfer/RPL, please refer to Apply for credit.

Academic Entrance Requirements
Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent or higher level qualification in any discipline.
Alternate Entry:
No prior academic qualifications but a minimum of 5 years full-time equivalent (FTE) work experience is required.
Applicants will be required to submit a CV.

The School of Accounting, Information Systems and Supply Chain is closely related to the industry and IAC members are high-profile industry representatives and have a broad network with the industry. The program works closely with the committee to bring real-world business experiences to the curriculum, course design, and classroom.

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees. Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
