Purpose of the Program
The Graduate Certificate in Cloud Applications in Business addresses the need many organisations now have for digital solutions as part of their business. Opportunities for digital integration continue to expand, in line with innovations in cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) models and related technologies. Cloud computing offers on-demand resources and subscription-based services to individual and corporate end-users. The use of cloud-based technologies is now common across a variety of business functions, including finance and accounting, human resources, customer relationship management, supply chain solutions, and many more.
Upon graduating, you will be able to combine your industry domain knowledge with an understanding of solution options in a typical cloud-based technology stack. You will have the capabilities necessary for the transformation of business processes through the planning, design, implementation, and change management strategies appropriate to the successful rollout of cloud-based solutions and related technologies. Specialised skills include the ability to translate and integrate digital technologies with business processes across a variety of industry domains, and those related to maintaining an efficient cloud architecture, microservices and security around container applications
This program provides you with the ability to conceptualise and shape solutions across contexts. You will learn how cloud solutions have the potential to enhance the resilience and effectiveness of business functions across of organisations across a variety of sectors. You will graduate with a unique set of skills at the intersection of technology and business. The Graduate Certificate in Cloud Applications in Business aims to address the shortage of qualified industry professionals with the unique mix of skills required in the planning, development and implementation of cloud-based solutions in business. Developed in collaboration with Microsoft and its Cloud platform providers, the program responds directly to the skills needs specific to these sought-after roles, and will be of interest to professionals from a wide range of backgrounds.
The focus of the program will be on the integration of business processes with emerging technologies, supporting digital integration and cloud-based solutions in business. The program is business-focused, emphasising the integration of cloud-based solutions and related technologies with business processes across a variety of industry domains. It brings an interdisciplinary and industry-relevant approach to the central themes developed through each course. It provides a broad understanding of common technology stacks along with the necessary skills in business. It aims to meet the needs of industry in addressing the skills gap between business needs and the implementation of technology solutions.
The Graduate Certificate in Cloud Applications in Business will support you in building the confidence to engage in the design and development of cloud-based solutions in business across multiple contexts. It has been tailored to build on your skills and experience in digital integration or extend your knowledge and capabilities in the development and application of cloud-based solutions in business.
The delivery of this program is blended comprising of face-to-face and online learning. In line with the requirements of working full time and studying, the program will be delivered part-time, sequentially over the year. Our blended delivery approach will enable those unable to attend class in person to study online whilst also providing a community of peers to share the learning journey. Hybrid fortnightly tutorials will be provided outside of normal working hours for online learners in parallel with those able to attend in person. These sessions will include guest speakers from industry, joint problem-solving activities and prepare you for assessments that have business relevance outside of the classroom. You will finish each course with experiences and artefacts they can add to your public profiles, portfolio or resume.
Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Cloud Applications in Business, you may be eligible for up to 48 credit points of exemption for electives as part of MC200 (Coursework) Master of Business Information Technology.

Upon successful completion of GC214 Graduate Certificate in Cloud Applications in Business, you may be eligible for up to 48 credit points of exemption for electives as part of MC200 Master of Business Information Technology. All other credits and exemptions will be assessed in accordance to the RMIT Admissions and Credit Policy and the relevant program structure. Please note, all exemptions are subject to change.

The entry requirements for the program are as follows:
- A Bachelor degree or equivalent higher-level qualification from a recognised tertiary institution;
OR:
- No prior academic qualifications but a minimum of 3 years full-time equivalent (FTE) work experience in a relevant field.*
*All applicants will be required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV).
Applicants may demonstrate they meet English language proficiency requirements with evidence of two years work experience in an occupation requiring English language proficiency.
