‘Lead, Innovate, and Transform with Technology for a Better Future’
The Executive Master of Business Administration develops forward thinking leaders underpinned by contemporary business knowledge, practice, and research. The program is infused with principles of business design thinking, enabling you to create, innovate, lead, and manage complex initiatives within uncertain globally connected environments.
This flagship executive leadership program integrates technology and social impact. In this program, you will attain essential senior leadership skills and, should you choose to complete a minor, you will also deepen your industry expertise within it's specialisation. With this cross-disciplinary approach, the Executive Master of Business Administration develops cutting-edge senior professionals into forward-thinking leaders that spearhead innovation and transformation, leveraging technology to shape a better future. You can choose from a range of specialized minors, including Leadership & Technology, Strategic Artificial Intelligence & Business Analytics, Public Policy, Arts Management, Fashion Entrepreneurship, Health Leadership, or select from a variety of optional courses.
You will be equipped with the skills to effectively drive innovation and change and to create ongoing value for your organisation and the communities it serves. The program uses an adult and facilitated learning approach to delivery, and assessment that is active, applied, and authentic. You will engage in self-directed learning and will be expected to actively participate in a variety of learning activities. Learning activities and experiences are a combination of issue-based seminars, case study analyses, simulation, exploration of readings and research, project-based learning, and facilitated discussions. Assessment tasks will require you to integrate relevant academic theory with contemporary practice, and actively apply this within authentic, workplace settings.
The capstone course BUSM4522 Executive Consulting will give you the opportunity to critically reflect on this program’s curriculum. The course will promote the integration and synthesis of a range of knowledge and skills gained in the program and the application of these in discipline related real-world scenarios leading to work readiness.
The core research course of this program is BUSM4519 Design Thinking for Business (Executive). This course is designed to develop your knowledge of research principles and methods related to Design Thinking and their application in the contemporary business environment. You will have the opportunity to conduct a research project/proposal and further develop your research skills.
The Executive MBA serves as a powerful tool for career progression and lifelong learning. Future career pathways include senior management and executive roles, entrepreneurship and business ownership, consulting and advisory roles, board and governance positions, global business leadership, or government and public sector leadership.
This program is primarily delivered at the City campus using blended face-to-face and online delivery. However, if you choose to undertake the Fashion Entrepeneurship Minor, this will be delivered at the Brunswick campus. If you choose to undertake the Health Leadership Minor, this will be delivered across the Bundoora campus.
