Purpose of the Program
The Master of Fashion (Entrepreneurship) provides you with the capabilities, knowledge, and confidence to create your own fashion enterprise and/or build a career within the global fashion industry.
Fashion entrepreneurs provide leadership while continuously questioning the status quo to create added value. This Masters will advance your skills as an entrepreneurial thinker, to recognise opportunities, take calculated risks, be resourceful, passionate and understand your capacity within the dynamic and global fashion environment.
Entrepreneurs ‘learn-by-doing’ and this masters program encourages you to take charge of your own learning via authentic industry practice, enabling you to test, develop and implement your business strategies. You will develop an applied and theoretical approach to fashion entrepreneurship and experience dealing with the complexity of the fashion industry while networking with entrepreneurs and leaders in the fashion industry. This program is delivered through a blended delivery mode where you will experience a combination of face-to-face and online environments with weekly online lectures, tutorials and workshops.
Upon graduation, you will be able to effectively and strategically manage a fashion and/or textile enterprise within the global fashion setting. It will enable you to manage teams in various local and global environments, as well as lead your own fashion business. You will develop advanced business and entrepreneurial skills and industry acumen, combined with an in depth knowledge of the fashion system.
Courses focus on entrepreneurial thinking, sustainable fashion, ethical supply chains and strategies to build a global fashion brand. A capstone experience is offered in the course GRAP2428 Fashion Venture Creation where you will synthesise and integrate your knowledge, connect theory and practice, as well as demonstrate your holistic achievement of the program learning outcomes.
The Master of Fashion (Entrepreneurship) offers a flexible structure with core course and elective choices within specialist areas of the fashion system. You are able to customise your course selection to build upon your existing knowledge or pursue your own entrepreneurial aspirations.
Upon graduation, you will have advanced knowledge and skills suited to a variety of careers within the global fashion industry. This program also offers a pathway to further learning which may include DR213 PhD (Fashion and Textiles).

If you have already developed areas of skill and knowledge included in this program (for example, through prior studies or work experience), you can apply for credit once you have enrolled in this program.
If you have gained one of the following qualifications in fashion, textiles or business, you will be eligible for masters exemptions relevant to your qualification level as stated in the table below. Please note that credit granted towards masters exemptions cannot be transferred to an exit award such as a graduate certificate or graduate diploma.

After successful completion this program, you may be eligible to undertake further studies in related programs at RMIT University, including postgraduate research programs, subject to each program’s entry requirements.
The Graduate Certificate in Fashion (Entrepreneurship) (GC166) and Graduate Diploma in Fashion (Entrepreneurship) (GD203) are available as an exit award of this program, if you have successfully completed required courses listed in this structure. If you wish to exit early with the Graduate Certificate you must have completed all 48 credit points or have been granted credit for previous study at an equivalent level (AQF 8). If you wish to exit early with the Graduate Diploma you must have completed all 96 credit points or have been granted credit for previous study at an equivalent level (AQF 8).

You must have successfully completed:
- an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in any discipline with a GPA of at least 2.5 (out of 4.0), or
- a four year Australian bachelor degree with honours (or equivalent overseas qualification) in any discipline with a GPA of at least 2.5 (out of 4.0), or
- a minimum of five years relevant work experience in the fashion industry.
To have your work experience considered you must include in your application a CV and a personal statement that details your experience.
If the GPA is lower than 2.50, selection will be merit based and assessed on a one page personal statement and an interview.
English language requirement
A minimum of IELTS (Academic module) overall score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0, or equivalent. For equivalents to English entry requirements, see the English requirements web page.
Selection task
You may be required to attend an interview.

The Master of Fashion (Entrepreneurship) has professional industry links with a wide range of organisations and associations, including the peak industry body the Australian Fashion Council (AFC) https://ausfashioncouncil.com/
Whilst there are currently no Australian professional bodies that accredit programs in Fashion Entrepreneurship, the School of Fashion and Textiles has many close links with industry which take a variety of forms. The program is taught by academics who have strong industry relationships and current professional experience and employment in the fashion industry. In addition, we collaborate with industry and community partners in a range of activities including partnered projects, placements, virtual studios and case studies to ensure you are immersed in current industry professional practices, techniques and strategies.
The program has regular consultations with industry advisory groups that consist of high profile industry representatives. Part of these consultations is to ensure that the program's links with industry standards and practice remain current and valid.

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees. Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
