2026 Enrolment Program Structure

For students who commence their study in this program from 1 January 2016 onwards, please note that some courses listed in this structure will have their course marks count toward your program's weighted average mark. Your weighted average mark will determine the honours level of your award once you have completed the program. If a course counts toward your weighted average mark, that fact will be stated in its course guide. In Enrolment Online, after you have completed your course enrolment, you will be notified which of the enrolled courses will count toward the weighted average mark.

Year One of Program

Welcome

Starting at RMIT is an important and exciting moment and we're committed to providing you with the information, support and resources you need to succeed from day one.

We aim to create a safe place for students and staff, where everyone feels included, respected and supported.

That’s why, commencing students studying at Australian campuses are required to complete three free online modules as part of their onboarding experience - Student onboarding modules.

  • Academic Integrity Awareness (60-90 minutes maximum)
  • Sex and Consent (45 minutes)
  • How2RMIT (45 minutes)

Students are expected to complete these self-paced modules by the end of their first semester of study at RMIT.

__________________________________________________________________

If you are a student commencing first year of a higher education undergraduate engineering coursework degree from Semester 1 2025, the Engineering Professional Practice (EPP) module is a requirement for graduation.

Exemptions:

1. Students who commenced an RMIT higher education undergraduate engineering degree before Semester 1 2024 are exempt from undertaking the EPP module as a requirement for graduation but may opt into the module.

2. Students who articulate with credits into higher year levels of an RMIT higher education undergraduate engineering degree in Semester 1 2024 and will graduate on or before 2026 are exempt from undertaking the EPP module as a requirement for graduation but may opt into the module.

The EPP module is ongoing throughout your degree, providing continuous development and requiring you to complete 420 hours of engineering-related activities. The total hours can comprise a combination of work, volunteering, roles in clubs, organisations and events, and professional development activities.

Completing the EPP module involves logging professional practice activities and providing a reflection response on learning to showcase your sound proficiencies in engineering knowledge, applications of engineering processes, professional skills and values that align with the competencies expected from a professional engineer in the workplace.

The online dashboard to submit your activities will be available in the School of Engineering BEng Canvas shell here (student log in required) https://rmit.instructure.com/courses/99581
