External accreditation and industry links

The Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET) is a nationally recognised qualification for trainers and assessors in Australia.  At RMIT the program is supported by a Industry Advisory Committee which represents a broad cross section of the training industry.  This committee advises on the training and assessment and ensures that the program produces graduates who are ready to work in the field.

The Diploma of Vocational Education and Training TAE50116 enables VET trainers to complete a VET teaching qualification which incorporates a practicum at AQF level 5.  The practicum requirements are built into the critical assessment criteria for 3 units: TAEDEL502 Provide advanced facilitation practice; TAEASS501 Provide advanced assessment practice; and TAEPDD501 Maintain and enhance professional practice.
