Purpose of the Program

The Master of Physiotherapy program is a 2-year postgraduate entry to professional practice degree.

The Master of Physiotherapy program at RMIT produces entry to practice physiotherapists that are agile, resilient and enterprising health professionals. As a graduate, you will be curious embracing "knowledge with action" with skills competencies in Physiotherapy that are informed by evidence. You will have business and enterprise acumen; skills in technology and digital health; and be champions of responsible practice, lifespan wellness and lifestyle medicine to drive innovation for sustainable health outcomes in community and global contexts.

Program delivery focuses on major challenges facing the Australian healthcare industry, such as: equity and access to healthcare services for those residing in rural and regional communities; indigenous communities. The program targets the increased prevalence of chronic disease, disability, an ageing population, and individuals with multiple co-morbidities across the lifespan.

As part of this 2 year program, you will also participate in an industry mentored internship program, RMIT EmpowEER, which runs in parallel with the curriculum. As part of the program you will complete specifically designed assessment in 1 course in each semester.

REHA2275 Advances in Physiotherapy Research is the capstone course within the program that focuses on advancing research skills and capabilities, culminating in the planning, execution, evaluation and dissemination of an industry-based project. You will also gain capstone experience through the industry partnered projects within your Work Integrated Learning (WIL) activities.

While most courses in the program have face-to-face delivery, others are delivered via a combination of predominantly online activities supported by some campus based activities. Enrolment in the program is full- time only and requires on-campus attendance.
