Course Description

In this course you will develop the knowledge and skills required to participate effectively in workplace communication.  Workplace communication includes communicating information about routine tasks, processes, events, or skills; participating in group discussions to achieve appropriate work outcomes; and representing views of a group to others.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment is ongoing throughout this course and includes the following:

- Oral questioning

- Workplace observation during your work placement

- Short answer questions


Assessment Tasks

To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessment.

Assessment task 1

A questionnaire. The questions will be answered within a simulated workplace context. This task will be completed during class.

Assessment Task 2

You will be observed in the workplace doing your normal workplace duties and demonstrating a range of communication skills
