Assessment 1:
For this assessment you will role play a client education session on safe injecting practices and harm minimisation strategies. You will need to satisfactorily meet each of the criteria outlined in the observation checklist provided to be found competent in this task.
Assessment 2:
For this assessment you will work in groups to plan a harm minimisation community activity. Your activity should be based on something that you have learnt throughout the year and must be focused on reducing the risk of harms associated with drug and/or alcohol consumption, however it can be a related harm not only a direct harm. Eg: homelessness. Your activity may be general or focused on a specific group. You must provide needle and syringe information as a part of your activity.
Assessment 3:
For this assessment you will work in groups to organise and run a harm minimisation community activity.
Your teachers will have pre-arranged space and times at RMIT University City Campus for these community activities to take place. During the course of your activity, every team member must interact with at least one member of the community in relation to harm minimisation. After you have conducted your activity you will make a presentation to the rest of the class about what you did and how it went.
