Course Description

In this course you will cover the skills and knowledge required to undertake a straightforward project or a section of a larger project. It covers developing a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalising the project and reviewing the project to identify lessons learned for application to future projects.

This is the designated Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course for C5350 Diploma of Screen and Media and C5351 Diploma of Screen and Media (Interactive Media). In this course, feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your experience.

Production management essentials – discussion and group work during class time to explore pre-production, principal photography, post-production and the deliverables cycle.

Week 3

Production management essentials – discussion and group work during class time to explore pre-production, principal photography, post-production and the deliverables cycle.

Shooting schedule and call sheet administration; including budgeting and safety hazard assessments.

Activity: Group meeting (in-class) along with minutes taking.

To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete the following assessments to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessments. 

Assessment Tasks

Assessment Task 1 - This assessment requires you to participate in a group to plan, prepare, complete and review a short film project. To produce the short film project, five steps need to covered; 1 - Draft a script, put together a team project, draft team objectives and delegate roles; 2 - Your group needs to document your plans for the project; 3 - Your group needs to administer and create the short film project; 4 - Your group needs to finalise production ensuring all paperwork is correct; 5 - Your group needs to review what you have produced and the production process against your original plans. Due Date: Rolling assessment, please see assessment schedule (on Canvas), weeks 8 to 10

Assessment Task 2 - This assessment requires you to write a researched and referenced report on your short film production project. Due Date: Rolling assessment, please see assessment schedule (on Canvas), weeks 11 to 13.

Assessment Task 3 - This assessment requires you to participate in a presentation about what your group learned from planning, preparing, completing and reviewing a short film project. Due Date: weeks 14 and 15.

Assessment tasks 1, 2 and 3 are to be finalised by no later than end of Semester 2 Week 16.
