Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work respectfully with people from diverse social and cultural groups and situations, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

This unit applies to all workers.

The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice

Overview of Assessment

To be deemed competent you must demonstrate an understanding of all aspects required of the competency.   

Regular attendance is necessary.

You are permitted to have a maximum of 2 resbumissions for this course, however each individual assessment may only be submitted once. Resubmissions are not automatic and will only be approved at the discretion of the program coordinator after consultation with the teacher.

All resubmissions must be completed and submitted no more than 7 days after your work has been assessed.

 

Please note an opportunity to repeat clinical placement is not guaranteed and will be at the discretion of the Program Manager.

Attendance

It is expected that you attend all sessions in order to engage in the required learning activities and ensure the maximum opportunity to gain competency.
