In this course you will learn the skills and knowledge required to plan, set up and operate stage monitor systems for performers in live productions and events.

Details of Learning Activities
In class activities will include a range of teacher directed group activities, projects, class exercises, review discussions/lectures and independent project based work.
Out-of-class activities include completion of individual design and pre-production work, preparation for class presentations and production work. Online research and occasional outside of class time group discussions will be required to maintain project work.

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral/written presentations and through the application of learned skills and insights. Assessment Tasks
To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete the following assessment tasks to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessments and once you have demonstrated competency you will also receive a result after your final assessment task.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1: Line List. Completing this Case Study
will allow you to understand how to read and interpret specification documents as found in Show Advances, Band Riders and
Event Specs. Completing this assessment will demonstrate your ability to Plan and Manage a Stage Monitor System, including
input sources like microphones. Due by Week 15, Semester 2.
Assessment Task 2: Playback Performance. You will each plan for, then Set-up & Operate a Playback Performance in a simulated setting, in at least one class. This assessment is a progressive assessment, requiring you to complete a few tasks – primarily practical – in a timely fashion over a period of time.
This assessment will allow you to demonstrate your ability to plan, set up and operate stage monitor systems for at least one
production, meeting production and performer requirements and your ability to work collaboratively. Due by Week 15, Semester 1.
Assessment Task 3: Collide. You will each plan for, then Set-up & Operate a Live Sound Mix for Monitors for a Band, in at least one Collide Production. It is a progressive assessment, requiring you to complete a few tasks – primarily practical – in a timely fashion over a period of time.
This practical assessment will allow you to demonstrate your ability to plan, set up and operate stage monitor systems for at
least one production, meeting production and performer requirements and your ability to work collaboratively. Due by Week 15, Semester 2.
