Course Description

This unit of competency describes a detailed level of knowledge of anatomy and physiology required to confirm physical health status. 

Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge with the aid on summative assessments online and practical assessments.

 

Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

This unit of competency does  not require pre-requisites.

This unit of competency is a pre-requisite for  other units within the Diploma of Nursing Program.

Learning Outcomes

Students will be presented with;

  • Information relating to structure and function (Anatomy and Physiology) of the human body.
  • Common problems of the human body.
  • Factors which impact physical health.

Students will be able to confirm the physical health status of individuals presenting with different conditions, using anatomical and physiological information.


Overview of Assessment

To meet the requirements of this course, students must

  • successfully complete 12 online tests directed to 12 different organ systems
  • perform client assessments on  people presenting with different conditions
