Course Description

This unit describes skills and knowledge required to determine strategic change requirements and opportunities; and to develop, implement and evaluate change management strategies.

 

It applies to managers with responsibilities that extend across the organisation or across significant parts of a large organisation. They may have a dedicated role in human resources management, human resources development, or work in a strategic policy or planning area.

 

The unit takes a structured approach to change management and applies to people with considerable work experience and organisational knowledge.

Assessment Tasks

Task 1: 

This assessment task requires you to analyse information about an organisation’s internal and external environment and consult with stakeholders to identify opportunities for change to support the organisation in achieving its objectives.

The purpose of this task is to demonstrate your knowledge and skills in interpreting information, analysing objectives, consulting with stakeholders within an organisation to develop a change management project plan which incorporates a risk management plan.

 

Task 2: This assessment task requires you to provide a process to implement, communicate, monitor and evaluate the change management strategy including the risk management plan. The purpose of this task is to demonstrate your knowledge and skills for implementing, monitoring, modifying and evaluating a change management project plan which incorporates a risk management plan to achieve organisational objectives.

 

Task 3:This task requires you to respond to 10 short answer questions to demonstrate your knowledge of change and risk management processes. Questions may be discussed during class however you are to complete the 10 short answers questions in your own time.
